How to provide remote placement for clinical audiology students

By the staff of University of Melbourne and Macquarie University.

Remote placements for students are different to a full implementation of teleaudiology programs within clinics. As we all know, there is considerable planning and investment that is required to establish an efficient teleaudiology service.

Remote placements for students use existing infrastructure and cloud-based communication platforms to enable a student to engage in select clinical encounters at a distance. That distance may be as close as the next room within the clinic, or as far as the student’s home.

This remote placement guidance has been written for the scenario of computer-based audiometers with internet access. These computers will need to have their microphone and speakers activated (in the same room where the client will be). Webcams are preferable, but not essential.

This module is provided free of charge to all users by the University of Melbourne and Macquarie University.

To access it, simply add it to your cart and purchase it via the store. You will not be charged.
